Alarm Clock

Late 15th Century
built 1998

This alarm clock has a 24 hour dial, which turns as the hand stands still, pointing up from the bottom of the face. A moveable peg set into the dial releases the alarm at the predetermined time. The clock is based on an intarsia formerly belonging to Federigo de Montefeltro. The wheels and pinions are handcut; the bronze bell cast and turned.
