Stochastic Systems

Since 1982, I have been offering computer consulting services to the Ithaca area under the business name of Stochastic Systems.  I also use Stochastic Systems to market software that I have written.  I hope that this page, and those it links to, will let you determine if I can be of service to you.

Custom Programming and Engineering Services

One of my specialties is connecting computers to real-world devices.  I have been involved in all aspects of automated system design including:

Other areas of interest are Computer Graphics (scanners, video digitizers, desktop publishing, etc.), and Music.

Most of my work involving hardware design and interfacing is naturally limited to the local area, since it requires much hands-on interaction.  I do offer custom programming services to a wider area, with some of my work being done over the Internet.

History of Stochastic Systems

Though most of the work these days is on PCs using Windows, I have experience with many different system.  I always enjoy working on something challenging.

I started Stochastic Systems in 1982 to market some video games I wrote for the Atari 400/800 series of computers.  I had previous experience with different mainframe computers and such microcoputer system as the COSMAC ELF II, Ohio Scientific C1P, and TRS-80 Models 1 and 3.  Since then, the scope of the company has grown to include custom programming, hardware design, and general computer consulting.  Basically, anything that I enjoy doing with computers became part of the business (as long as other people are willing to pay me for it!).  I have done work for clients on all the various Apple 2 and 3 models, some of the earlier Mac models, virtually every Atari computer system from the 400 to the Falcon 030, and such now-forgotten machines as the Rockwell AIM 65, Radio Shack Color Computer, and the Comodore VIC-20 and 64.
