Users of crippled-from-the-factory Windows (32 or 64 bit) machines can download PuTTY to use as a terminal (or Cygwin and it's SSH). Sadly, I do not know of a SSH client for those of you still using Windows 3.11 or earlier — you'll have to use a DOS ssh client! (Be sure to get SSH2DOS, as my server won't answer to SSH 1.)
SSH clients are also available for Android and IOS handhelds, but apparently not for Nook or Kindle jailed gardens.
