Starting June 1st and continuing through August the Watkins Glen Police Department will conduct its annual Community Policing and Parking Enforcement. Officers will be walking foot patrol in the Business District in an effort to assist business owners, pedestrians, motor vehicle traffic and conduct parking enforcement. The safety and security of our village residents, business community and visitors to the community will be first and foremost. As always, the cooperation received from the village residents and business community will help to make another happy, healthy and safe summer for all.
Starting November 1st and continuing through March 31st Odd/Even Parking will be in effect on the flat in the Village of Watkins Glen. On odd calendar days, vehicles must be parked on the side of the street with house numbered with odd numbers; on even days of the month, vehicles must be parked on the side of the street numbered with even numbers. There will be a grace period from 6:00 PM to 7 AM the following day during which time vehicles will be allowed to park on either side of the street. Streets that no parking on one side and streets on the side hill are exempt from the Odd/Even parking law. Residents and visitors are reminded that starting at 7AM each day vehicles must be parked on the correct side of the street. Officers will issue warning tickets from November 1st until November 15th to help get residents adjusted to the schedule. Officers will then be issuing parking tickets for violations of the law. Everyone’s cooperation in this matter will help with cleanup during leaf and snow removal operations and makes village streets safer throughout the winter months.*please note the time changes for enforcement*
