Colorado Blue Spruce (Picea pungens

Paper (canoe) Birch: (Betula papyrifers

Known for its amazing fall golden color this landscape tree grows best in moist soil. It has tremendous winter interest for its beauty and grows to 70 feet. The paper birch is easily recognized for its peeling white bark, which actually did find historical use as a paper substitute. An alternate common name for the tree is canoe birch. The bark, which can be peeled in large wide strips, was valued for construction of canoes. Paper birch is a tree of the north woods, very cold tolerant, with most of its range in the northern United States and in Canada . Arkansas. Among them, the loblolly pine, also known as the Arkansas pine,

Giant Sequoia (Sierra Redwood )or Big Tree:
Giant Sequoia is one of the worlds largest trees. Native to the Sierra
Nevada Mountains of California this is an amazing specimen tree reaching the
maximum height of 300 feet. The leaves are evergreen and many living
trees are 1200 or more years old. This mighty sequoia has been successfully
planted in Europe as well as in the western, southern and eastern USA. In
the mid-1930s, interest developed in naming an official state tree to
represent California. This interest centered on the redwoods of the state
that grew taller and broader than any other tree on earth and it became
California's official state tree in 1937 . (contains
