FIRST AID FOR DOGS

Sharon Garland, L.V.T.

First Aid is the immediate care given an animal that has been in an accident or is experiencing a sudden illness. First Aid can be performed by anyone. Care more involved than First Aid should be performed by a trained veterinary professional, for both the pet and owner's well-being.

Accidents and illnesses happen to even the most well cared for and adored pet. Many emergencies can be avoided by careful supervision of your pet, good preventive care, and knowing signs of illness, but still THINGS HAPPEN.
