World Famous Vickio Signs


Here is a sign made to look old. Used old barn boards to create the panel and boarder. The prop was carved from redwood, then "antiqued" with a claw hammer and assorted tools! Sign is painted with flet latex and hand lettered,

This is a 12' x 36' Ford billboard for Watkins Glen International. The man in the photo,posing to look like he's working is Larry Orr of Orr signs. A charter member of th Old Dogs Signwriters and the Talladega Highwallers. All hand painted. Did four of these.

Seneca Grand Prix

A double sided 10' x 8' Aluminum sign for the Seneca Grand Prix in Watkins Glen.. Sign panels are Alumalite. Combination of vinyl and hand painting.

Mark Vickio's helmet

Helmet is gilded with hand spun silver leak with maroon pinstriping. Flag is airbrushed, then helmet was clear coated.

Mike McWilliams of Talledega

This glass piece is "glue chipped" using animal hide glue to chip the background of the glass. Lettering was then in reverse on the back side of the glass and outlined with black. Then the lettering was Gilded with 23 Karat Gold Leaf. The Talladega Superspeedway logo is painted on the reverse side alos. This hangs on the office wall of Mike McWilliams, General Manager o Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.

The 1999 Ford Taurus Pace Car. Application of Large Format graphics over contours made a long day!

Winchester Rifle sign

This is another antiqued sin. Old barn wood, hand lettering and a 1/2 scale Winchester rifle carved from a piece of High Density Urethan and painted to look authentic.
