There is another way to look at it. Intel has secrets that are worth
millions if not billions. Randall created security holes in the Intel
system, and thus put all Intel's secret at stake and made them dependent
on his own good intentions.
Intel (or any other big company) can simply go bankrupt if their secrets
become public only because some computer contractor thinks that
"information should be free". No wonder they were so annoyed.
