First, it's not Intel v R. Schwartz... it's Oregon v R. Schwartz:
Intel is just the "victim" in this criminal case, involving me setting
the definitive precedent for Oregon's virtually untested Computer
Crime laws (passed in 1985).

The only information that is available to the public at large, except
for individuals who are working directly on my team, is available by
sending e-mail to fund@stonehenge.com (a daemon will auto-reply). I'm
sorry I can't go into details, but I do so at the advice of my (well
paid, <groan>) legal team.

They now tell me that a trial (if it happens) is more likely to take
place in January rather than November. From now until then I'll be in
what will seem like an endless series of pre-trial hearings, designed
mostly to punch so many holes in my work schedule that I won't be able
to afford my legal bills. (half smiley :-)

Thank you for your interest, however. It's been a hell of a year, and
it's not over by a long shot. You can be certain that when the smoke
clears, there'll be plenty of noise on Usenet about the vise this
rather large heartless corporation put around some tender parts of my
anatomy needlessly.

print "Just another Perl hacker," # but not what the media calls "hacker!" :-)
# legal fund: $2580.03 collected, $29879.50 spent; email fund@stonehenge.com for details
