Lawrence Olstad) Subject: Schwartz indictment The indictment in the Schwartz case contains allegations of 3 counts of Computer Crime under ORS 164.317: Count 1 alleges, in pertinent part, that Mr. Schwartz did, between November 1, 1992 and November 1, 1993, "unlawfully, knowingly and without authorization alter a computer and computer network consisting of Intel computers Mink and Brillig;" Count 2 alleges, in pertinent part, that Mr. Schwartz did, between August 1, 1993 and November 1, 1993, "unlawfully, and knowingly access and use a computer and computer network for the purpose of committing theft of the Intel SSD's password file;" and Count 3 alleges, in pertinent part, that Mr. Schwartz did, between October 21, 1993 and October 25, 1993, "unlawfully, knowingly access and use a computer and computer system for the purpose of committing theft of the Intel SSD individual user's passwords." All that's really omitted from this is: "contrary to the statutes in such cases made and provided and against the peace and dignity of the State of Oregon."
