Sheldrake
Point Vineyard, LLC. is a New York State Limited Liability Company
founded in 1997. The company is licensed as a New York State Farm
Winery and owns and operates a 155 acre farm located on the shores
of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes, a vineyard of 40 acres planted
to Vinifera vines, a winery producing 6000 cases and a Café
serving savory American cuisine. Our current investor Members
are drawn from five families. Members who are company officers
include Chuck Tauck as Senior Managing Partner (principal owner)
and Bob Madill as Winegrower, General Manager and partner. Member
Greg Sandor, who founded the company and acted as General Manager
from 1997 through the spring of 1999, is currently General Manager
for Galluccio Family Wineries on Long Island. Michael and Marjorie
Adams live in Australia and are engaged in developing a wine export
business.

Our mission is to
provide guests with hospitality and an enjoyable experience during
their visit to Sheldrake Point Vineyard and Café. We are
stewards of our vineyard land, with a commitment to sustainable
wine growing practices and respect for the environment of our
site. Sheldrake Point Vineyard is an integral part of the Sheldrake
community and respects neighborly behavior. The growth of our
employees will be fostered and their contributions acknowledged
and rewarded. The Sheldrake team will be mindful of our Member’s
trust and our obligations to them as we develop a profitable business.
Sheldrake
will provide a hospitable and entertaining experience for our
guests through the provision of a respectful, warm welcome and
gracious service. Our guests may partake of an integrated offering
of estate wines of recognized quality and perceived value, wine
inspired cuisine and related services. Our superb location, gardens,
waterfront, vineyards, picnic areas, lake-side Café and
estate wine production will form the basis of our ability to emphasize
the pleasurable and unpretentious connection among people, the
land, wine, food and fun. We will educate our guests to the healthful
and pleasurable benefits of the responsible consumption of wine
and food. Sheldrake Point Vineyard’s hospitality program
encompasses the needs of families touring the Finger Lakes, as
well as those for whom we are a destination for the enjoyment
of wine and food in a vineyard bistro ambiance.
Using sustainable
wine growing practices and state-of-the-art wine- making techniques,
Sheldrake will produce distinctive estate wines with personality
that reflect the unique character of our site and the Finger Lakes.
We will also produce select value-priced wines that provide broad
accessibility. Our vineyard practices will explore and reveal
the best of varieties and clones for our site. Our wines will
be marketed and sold as they are produced -- with creativity and
integrity.
We will foster
an environment of personal growth for our team members. This will
be achieved through opportunities for training, education, advancement,
experiencing Sheldrake and equitable wages for value received.
