Please Help Marilyn Monroe, SCA Newbie

(and Mannequin), get ready for Ice Dragon:*

Background: Marilyn Monroe attended her first SCA* event at Pennsic 37, Cooper's Lake Campground, PA. Where did she come from? And why does she need help? Early in August, Marilyn was standing by the side of the road a mile from Pennsic. She was working as a yard sale assistant. When Rhiannon y Bwa and Bedwyr Danwyn stopped by, she was fascinated by their garb and asked if they were in a play. Once they told her more about the SCA, and she understood more about Pennsic, she wanted to attend the Event, even though she hadn't done any re-enacting before. Rhiannon agreed to bring her with them, even though she was naked, since her clothes had already been sold at the yard sale. Bedwyr generously offered her one of his tunics as loaner garb. So she found a medallion, went thru the gate, and begged a spot in the Bog with the Regnesfolke/Myrkfaelinn camp. There was no problem with sharing a tent. If you're curious about Marilyn's adventures at Pennsic, you can see the blog about her adventures here: http://rhiybwa.wordpress.com and pictures of her ongoing adventures online at Flickr. Rhiannon the Pentocrat has been searching for new ideas for the A&S competitions and displays this year. When she met Marilyn Monroe, the SCA newbie and mannequin at the yard sale, she realized that Marilyn could add a whole new dimension to the competition. If you would like to help Marilyn get ready for her appearance at Ice Dragon, please come back to visit us for more information in a week or two.

This is a good opportunity to outfit a newbie with what they would need for their various adventures in the SCA. Marilyn is not sure what century she wants to play in.............

After Ice Dragon, Marilyn will be used to teach Newbies the basics of what they might need to play with us. She'll have a website presence as well, using the items donated to her at Ice Dragon, acknowledging the donors.
