History of Ysabeau: Ysabeau is a 13th-14th C. Breton baroness from St. Denis. She was shipped off to Berwick, Scotland to marry Scottish Baron Hamish McLead, which gave him access to sell his fine Scottish wool at the St. Denis Clothe fair. Ysabeau consoled herself with year-round access to good wool. Hamish offered her a life of adventure and excitement, sometimes too much of each. Hamish and Ysabeau both die of the Great Plague in 1347 at their estate in Brittany.
