To Johnson's from Ithaca via Burdett: Take Route 79 west out of Ithaca. You will go through Enfield and Mecklenburg. About 3 miles west of Mecklenburg you will travel down a long steep hill. There is a stop sign at the base of the hill. Turn left to stay on Route 79 west. You will go through Bennetsburg. You will enter Burdett. Go straight at the intersection with the red light in Burdett. You'll come to a 4-way stop- turn right onto County Rte.5 also called Tug Hollow Road also called North Main Street. Tug Hollow Road dead-ends onto Rte. 414. Turn right on Rte.414 to head north. You will pass the hamlet of Hector - which is basically a few houses a gas station, a church and a post office. Johnson's is on the right about 3/4 of a mile beyond Hector. To Johnson's via Trumansburg: Take Rte.96 north to T-burg. Go past the Rongo - don't stop. Just past the P&C and the post office, turn left onto Route 227. Go about 3 blocks on Route 227 and take a right onto Searsburg Road. There is a beautiful bed and breakfast on the corner with gray buildings and a nice white fence. Stay on Searsburg Road - it will take you up over the Hector backbone and through the Finger Lakes National Forest. Searsburg Road actually ends just before you reach Route 414. You will turn right onto a short road whose name escapes me which quickly dumps you onto Rte.414. Turn left onto Rte.414. Johnson's will be on the left as you head south on Rte.414.
