2010 Star Fleet Battles World League Tournament

Run by Peter Bakija (pdb6@lightlink.com).

World League is a team tournament, where 3 player teams compete against each other. The first round is a round robin style event where teams score points for each game played (3 points for a win, 1 point for a loss, 0 points for a no show). After the first round, the top 4 teams (based on scores) will advance to a single elimination ladder, by team, so there will be 2 rounds of finals (4 teams, 2 teams).

News:

Over in Pool B, The Orion Bikini Team (21 points) is top seed, and Team Merc (19 points) has to face off Team Iron Mans (19 points) in a SUDDEN DEATH! match to determine runner up. July 2, 2010: We are about half way through the first round and more than half way done with all the games. Good work! Round 1 ends on July 25th.

May 23, 2010: The initial round robin pools are up! Each player has 3 games vs 3 different opponents. The initial round robin will run until Sunday, July 25th. Please try and get your games done in a timely manner (i.e. contact your opponents soon, arrange for games, and play them when you plan to play them).

April 20, 2010: I am currently taking signups for teams for World League 2010. My plan is to post the initial round robin pools on May 23rd, so you have till then to get a team submitted. To submit a team, someone send me an e-mail with your team name and the following information for each of the 3 team members:

-Real name, SFBOL handle, e-mail, Ship choice.

Depending on how many teams sign up, I'll go with either a Top 8, three round finals system, or a Top 4, two round finals system.

August 6, 2009: Going 2-0 in the finals, Team DeathTöngue beats Team Colorado for the win. Congrats to Team DeathTöngue (Bill Schoeller, Ken Lin, Roger Rardain)! Till next year!
