Ithaca Create-A-Clan
Tournament
March 10th, 2006
So Jon Darbro masterminded
a local Create-A-Clan tournament here in Ithaca NY, following
the Create-A-Clan
rules as hosted on the White Wolf website, with the following
modifications for local play:
- No clan could use Dominate
as an in clan discipline.
- You could make two "spoof"
cards instead of just one.
- The first titled vampire
you made in your crypt could have any city title you wanted.
Other than that, we played
normal Create-A-Clan rules for construction and play. Thanks to
Damnan for having a lot of good card making resources on his site,
and apologies to all the various places we stole images from.
We got 12 players for a 2 round
plus Final event, and the winners were:
- Tournament Winner: Sean Harrington,
playing Clan Mythological Angels (AUS, FOR, CEL).
- Most Entertaining Deck: James
Keiser Willhelm's Monty Python and the Holy Grail deck.
- Best Graphic Design: James
Keiser Willhelm again.
- Weirdest Discipline Combination:
Tie between Jason Dettman (OBT, SER, PRE) and Sierra (CHI. DEM,
PRE).
My intention is to get as many
of the created cards archived here, but it'll probably take a
while. For now, there are:
- Peter Bakija's Clan
Evil Vampires from Sunnydale, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer
themed set, using POT, PRE, THA.
- Ben Stein's Clan
Crew of Serenity, a Firefly/Serenity themed set, using ANI,
OBF, PRE.
- Jon Darbro's Clan
Denizens of The City, a The Tick themed set, using FOR, POT,
PRE.
- Jason Dettman's Clan
Sirens, made up of women he works with or is married to,
based on OBT, SER, PRE. Not a great image--difficult (if impossible)
to read the text, but the card design and portraits are awsome.
