Wormwood - The new moe. studio album Wormwood featuring the songs: Not Coming Down, Wormwood, Okayalright, Rumble Strip, Gone, Organs, Crab Eyes, Bullet, Kyle's Song, Bend Sinister, Kids, Kidstoys, Shoot First and Edison Laugh Record will be released in stores February 4th, 2003. Wormwood is one continuous piece of music, with basic tracks that were recorded live at shows in the summer of 2002. Then studio jams and assorted wierdness were assembled in the sticks of Massachussetts. This is a very different sounding album, and it has been getting rave reviews, so don't miss out. Be the first on your block to own a copy. You can pre-order here.

We recently joined a music-on-demand service for live moe. audio. Check it out!

Hi everybody!
Good to see y'all again. Some of you are very familiar (Tuna, don't you have a JOB or something?), some are brand new to the greater moe. circle of friends - in either case I'd just like to thank you all for being a part of our lives in the past year.
A lot has transpired since we celebrated the odometer turning over to 2001. We have been to new/exotic locales (Japan, Stubb's BBQ), criss-crossed this great country (in a bizarre fashion), revisited some old stomping grounds and had some new, unexpected experiences.
Could anyone have really foreseen this past year's events?
I don't think so.
If someone would have said, "you are going to have Bela Fleck, Victor, Future Man, and Jeff Coffin all onstage at the same time playing with you in front of thousands of people at the High Sierra Music Festival", I would have told them to go eat some vitamin C and chill out.
We had a great time letting loose with a lot of great musicians this year - Jamie Masefield of Jazz Mandolin Project, Jeff Austin from Yonder Mountain String Band, Melvin Seals, Warren Haynes, Fareed Haque, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Radioactive and Michael Franti of Spearhead, we played with bands like Entrain, Widespread Panic, The Wailers, Strangefolk, Phil and Friends...
We were fortunate to have yet another moe.down featuring the likes of Project Object, ulu, Maggi, Pierce and E.J., Cracker Van Beethoven, Gibb Droll, The Radiators,...more friends and bands that we dig. The more I think of it, the more excited I get about the possibilities of the new year. New people to meet, cool places to visit.......
Perhaps I would rather dwell on these things instead of some of the tragedies that we have all faced. Unfortunately, "The Day That Everything Changed" affected some of the moe. family very directly. It was, however, some of the occurrences immediately after this during our Fall Tour that really had a lasting effect on all of us,- namely the amount of support and donations that audiences at our shows provided for disaster relief and the Red Cross. It was at this time that I personally felt that our community, our circle of friends, could really achieve something great and come through when it really counted. You never WANT to be tested in this way, but to know that we CAN do great things in (and out of) times of adversity is highly commendable.
Two of these folks recently sent me email, one thanking us for deciding to play on September 14th and beyond (despite everything going on at that time), the other mentioning that several of the shows from this past year had setlists that appeared to be constructed with the particulars of his life in mind. These two letters made me consider some of the aspects concerning our connections and the "Greater Circle" of which we are all a part. We all need support in times of crisis. To go through the low points of your life with no help or communal ties is a shame. The bonding during those first shows and the positive reaction from everyone proved to me that we were ALL going to be all right. The second email almost accused us of ESP (in no such words) and also asked to help construct NYE's setlists. My response was:
"Thanks a lot for your email. I WISH we could read minds (song selections!) but that would take all of the fun out of it, don't you think? One of the biggest parts of our live shows is the improv, the spontaneity - that's what makes it such a pleasure for us to do this. If we (or the people in the audience) knew EXACTLY what was going to happen next, where would we all be? Rehashing. no fun for anyone."
Then it occurred to me that we all need this, we all inform each other's lives and push the envelope together. Whether intended or not, any unexpected turn can open up a whole new can o' related topics and possibilities. NO ONE could have predicted ANY of this, but we develop together on the fly, we IMPROVISE...
I any case I am glad that we were all a part of something TOGETHER this year, and I hope we can all do this for a very long time. To everyone - musicians, artists, our crew and management, everyone who came to the shows and made them special just by being there...THANK
YOU! I'm proud to be a part of this circle of friends!
Happy New Year!!
chuck.

I would say this: Al and Chuck visited the Seymour Duncan factory in Santa Barbera while on tour with Robert Plant. The guys use Seymour Duncan pickups in their guitars. For more informantion go to Seymour Duncan .
