Programs in Tune with Your Child's
Natural Rhythms
-
Because so much of your child's cognitive, sensory, and physical
development occurs by age seven, Kindermusik includes a curriculum that
complements your child's own timetable for learning. Since each age and
stage provides unique learning opportunities, there are no prerequisites.
- Village is a program geared for babies from birth to 18 months
who attend class with a parent or caregiver. It's developmentally appropriate
for multi-age development: since babies develop at very different rates,
the curriculum gives alternative ways for multi-age participants to take
part in every activity. Lap babies, crawlers, and walkers each work at
their own unique pace. There are eight non-sequential semesters.
-
Our Time brings the joy of music and
movement into the lives of children, birth to three years of age. Children meet
weekly with a parent or caregiver present for
a 45 minute class of singing, changing, moving, listening, and playing
simple instruments. There are four non-sequential semesters.
-
Growing/Imagine That is for children "almost four" - five years, a crucial period when your
child moves from being receptive to being more expressive in his or her
learning. There are four non-sequential semesters.
-
Young Child broadens and deepens the music experience for
children ages five through seven with four sequential semesters
of activity. Meeting each week, eight to ten students explore many facets
of the musical experience--speaking and singing, moving, listening, creating
and playing percussion instruments, and learning about writing and reading
music.
Children, Parents, and Teachers
Working in Concert
-
Well-trained and dedicated, each licensed Kindermusik
teacher has completed a course of Kindermusik study. Yet the Kindermusik
teacher is really a guide for the child's own self-exploration. And so
are you. Kindermusik parents report that their greatest joy is being not
only a witness, but a daily participant in the rewarding work of helping
nurture their child's joyful musical disposition.
- At the heart of the Kindermusik curriculum
are the Kindermusik materials for teachers, children, and parents. Each
instrument and learning aid is chosen to fascinate and inspire. Simple
instruments, North American folk songs, beautiful works of art--all the
Kindermusik materials are designed to please the eye and ear, engage the
senses, and encourage use. CD's and home materials allow the child and
parents to continue the learning experience during the week so that music
becomes a natural and important part of the family life.
