Members visit Lycoming engine factory

9 March 2007

Members examine an engine in the Lycoming museum

On Friday, March 9th, twelve bold aviators ventured south to Williamsport, PA for a tour of the Lycoming engine factory. Departing in amazingly clear skies, we were given priority paring at the base of the control tower and had a great lunch at the Sky View Restaurant.

Our host escorted us to the factory, where we saw the whole process from incoming parts to engines running in the test cells. Lycoming wins 85% of all piston engine sales and is working hard to deserve and maintain this lead.

Next fly-out will be on May 19th, to Sporty's Pilot Shop. Planes have been reserved... sign up at the club!
