Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I continue to use the short login as opposed to my e-mail address as a login?

A: We would prefer everyone to use an e-mail address if possible. The short login is designed for people who will access the system via handheld devices and those who do not have e-mail. The e-mail address will remain unique to members, whereas the club must ensure uniqueness with the short login.

Q: Will outside people be able to read my personal data?

A: WWW.MYFBO.COM has issued a statement regarding their efforts to keep your data secure. Please read it on the member page.

Q: Who can update my personal data in the system?

A: Administrators of the club can update your data, however only you can update your password.

Q: Can anyone update my scheduled flights?

A: Only yourself and Club instructors can add, update, or delete resources in your name.

Q: When I am at the Club and I want to make a reservation, do I need to log off other people?

A: If another member is logged in, they will have to exit. This is because members cannot reserve for others. If the person is an instructor, either you can have them schedule the resource, or you can have them log off.

Q: I'm a student and while I have flown within the last 10 days, I get a warning message saying that I am not current. What gives?

A: If you are scheduling a flight 10 days beyond your last flight, the system will consider that a violation of Club rules. Ignore the warning.

Q: Do I have to print the dispatch or check-in ticket to complete the transaction?

A: No, printing a paper copy of the dispatch or check-in is an option for your records.

Q: Can I use remarks any way that I want?

A: Yes, however we may establish a club guideline, that instructors may overwrite remarks with students during the check-in process. This may allow instructors to view comments regarding a student's flight and assist in the training process.

Q: What do I do if the computer freezes on me or doesn't act properly?

A: See Chapter D of the manual.

Q: What do I do if I want to schedule a night flight after 10:30?

A: Schedule the flight at 10:30 for a 30 minute flight and then check-in with the true hobbes and tach time.

Q: The standby process confuses me, do I have to use it as a #2 process?

A: If you would prefer to not use the standby feature, you should monitor the resource for cancellations.

MORE TO COME...I'm sure
