Chris owns a beautiful C-210 and is fond of saying "I did not buy a plane just to polish and sit it in the hangar!" Chris likes to fly trips and will share tips and techniques developed from taking longer voyages at this informative presentation. Chris designed the original Business After Hours posters about flying to Cedar Point Amusement Park and to sporting events with his family. He also flies often for business; don't miss this informative discussion. http://faasafety.gov/SPANS/event_details.aspx?eid=30738 87708507-73E5-4857-A084-C19BFDBFD356-493-0000051687F0FBEB-FFA Sat, 13 Mar 2010 09:35:22 -0500 BBQ Before FAA Seminar: Thursday 25th! Local pilot and club member Mike Brown is passionate about the Civil War and sharing his enthusiasm for this subject. Join us for a fun discussion at the club on Civil War life (with his props including a real flintlock rifle) and the battle of Gettysburg then fly to the actual site on May 8th. Sign up to join our caravan to the battle field and enjoy a guided tour of this park. We are planning lunch at a nearby restaurant then journey home. Planes are already reserved and owner-members are encouraged to join this trip. There is plenty of room for student pilots. Learn history the way it could not be taught in school! The trip is a leisurely 164 miles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Gettysburg 4A752396-99BC-4D58-A0DE-7C375BDAE71C-493-00000500F1EB1952-FFA Sat, 13 Mar 2010 09:35:53 -0500 "From Sully to Sullied": Great Article! This Miles O'Brien article covers the deterioration of pilot skills in the airlines and hits the nail on the head. I thought the same thing when the NTSB report came out this week and he documented the decline and verbalized the disappointment beautifully. PBS Frontline documentary “Flying Cheap” looks very worth watching, covering this same angle. See the trailer here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/flyingcheap/ I would try to watch the show but no TV, I am sure it will be good. http://trueslant.com/milesobrien/2010/02/03/from-sully-to-sullied/ F951CB18-D058-4AE7-BC8F-E7662F08789B-772-000004EF88B8A473-FFA Wed, 10 Feb 2010 17:20:39 -0500
