Amazing Help; Our CT is on Display in the Terminal!
There is an airplane in the terminal! Wow, great bunch of pilots helping!
Not quite as easy as described but "many hands make light work." Thanks to those that helped move and assemble our light sport in the airline terminal! We need volunteers to staff this display and meet potential pilots; please sign up at the club or call.
Michelle and Joanne in CT KITH: new option for flight to Philadelphia
Wow, check out the new cute CFIs we have teaching in the CT (that is Michelle from Continental and Joanne our member) We need more members to help this afternoon and to help tear-down at 6 pm: Thanks!

Mike Thompson (our president) grilling aggressively

Caution: Pilots Grilling! First BBQ March 25th!

Save next Thursday (25th) for a BBQ at the club before Chris Camadella's seminar on X-C flying. This is a great time to meet your fellow pilots! As always we have a strict black tie dress code (kidding!) Please join the fun. We especially encourage students and new members to get involved and meet your fellow members. This is a great tactic for launching a flying friendship to share costs on some local trips. Student should try to meet up with pilots who fly to area airports.

Cessna 210

Learn the "How To" of Real Cross-Country with Chris Camadella, March 25th

Chris owns a beautiful C-210 and is fond of saying "I did not buy a plane just to polish and sit it in the hangar!" Chris likes to fly trips and will share tips and techniques developed from taking longer voyages at this informative presentation. Chris designed the original Business After Hours posters about flying to Cedar Point Amusement Park and to sporting events with his family. He also flies often for business; don't miss this informative discussion. Please register for this event on the FAA Website. FAA WIngs credit available here.

Gettysburg Fly-Out May 8th; Battlefield Orientation April 29th at the Club

Gettysburg

Local pilot and club member Mike Brown is passionate about the Civil War and sharing his enthusiasm for this subject. Join us for a fun discussion at the club on Civil War life (with his props including a real flintlock rifle) and the battle of Gettysburg then fly to the actual site on May 8th. Sign up to join our caravan to the battle field and enjoy a guided tour of this park. We are planning lunch at a nearby restaurant then journey home. Planes are already reserved and owner-members are encouraged to join this trip. There is plenty of room for student pilots. Learn history the way it could not be taught in school! The trip is a leisurely 164 miles.

Snowy day in Ithaca

Escape to the Bahamas in a Day!

We had a great Bahamas party to advertise this trip to the Caribbean but no takers! We went anyway with one (great) plane. Brent logged an hour and a half of actual instrument flying in addition to working with 23 different control facilities on the way to Florida! (Start planning for next February!) If you bring your family, you should really stay longer than one day to pay them back for the trip. We turned right around and came home (silly pilots). You can see some pictures here. Chris Camadella has made this trip and will talk about long cross-countries at the club on the 25th; FAA Wings Event

Wow, all in one day and it's lots warmer
Wednesday; snow, 300' overcast All the way to the Bahamas in a day!
