June 27th, 2005 -- Dear Parents and Students:

I am writing today with some sad news. Unfortunately due to some financial difficulties IMA will be forced to close at the end of June. The board has worked very hard to try and make this school work but in the end this is the most responsible decision that can be made.

Please talk with your teachers about continuing lessons. I am sure that they will all be making other arrangements to accommodate students.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: IMA has Moved !! -:) - PLEASE READ !!


IMA has recently leased new space at Community Corners in Cayuga Heights! We are very excited about moving to this new location. We will be right in the heart of things in a New location click for MapQuestbusier business location, but still in our home area of Northeast/Lansing. We are expecting this to be a smooth transition and we hope that you will be understandingduring this moving period.

The move is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 16th, and will complete on Monday, May 23rd. We expect lessons for the week of May 16th to be held at the current Triphammer Road location, and that starting on May 23rd lessons will be in the Community Corners building. Please keep in contact with your teacher about your lesson location for the next few weeks.

We are really looking forward to this new step for IMA, and we hope that you find the newParking detail space to be both enjoyable and convenient!

Note: The Mailing address is 200 Pleasant Grove Rd, but that puts the MapQuest red star in the wrong place .. so the link MapQuest link points to Hanshaw Rd which is the address for most of the Community Corners.

MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of the Ithaca Music Academy is to be a musical resource, improving the quality of life by providing opportunities for all community members, professional and amateur, to fulfill their musical and creative needs.

Specifically, the school shall provide for the fostering of the musically talented wishing to pursue a career in music and also to those pursuing other professions and seeking musical instruction and experience as part of their personal education and development. Towards this end, its activities shall include instrumental instruction, classes, workshops and ensembles.



PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS and RECOGNITIONS

The Ithaca Music Academy is a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs, making it possible for all of our students to grow musically through non-competitive performing festivals, performing competitions, composing competitions and much more! Stop into the office for more information on the great programs and opportunities available through NFMC.

Ithaca Music Academy is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.

The Ithaca Music Academy is a recipient of support from the Community Arts Partnership United Arts Fund Program of Tompkins County.

The Ithaca Music Academy is a registered non-profit organization that provides service to the public community without discrimination against race, color, gender or religion.
