White Mountain Ice Cream Maker

O ver one hundred forty-five years ago the White Mountain Freezer Company was founded to build the patented "Triple Motion" ice cream freezer. The company was originally sited in Nashua New Hampshire primarily because Nashua was the very heart of the growing area for long grain New England white pine, so essential to the manufacturer of the wood tubs used in the White Mountain Freezer.

Originally staffed by European artisans in casting machining and woodworking, the company gradually acquired a reputation for building the "best ice cream freezer in America". They use only the finest woods and highest quality metals and processes like stainless steel for cream cans and electro-less nickel plating for castings, to manufacture the freezers. A good example of commitment to exceptional quality is the wood freezer tub. Each tub is constructed of 3/4 inch thick select New England white pine staves, creating a tub which provides superior insulation for the rock salt and ice brine solution. This tongue and groove bucket is hand crafted without glue in White Mountain's own cooperage and is finished with three coats of sealer, stain and lacquer.

T oupled with scientific construction, here's how it works. There's a strong cast iron gear case with three-gear drive that is simple, sure and smooth in operation. As the can turns clockwise, the outer mixer moves counterclockwise, scraping the inside of the can thoroughly with its scrapers and moving the cooler cream inward until it meets the inner mixer. The inner mixer turning clockwise, moves the cream in a reverse horizontal direction and imparts an upward motion due to the formation of the floats. This exclusive triple motion of the White Mountain Freezer properly mixes and beats the entire cream contents resulting in smoother ice cream and provides a definite path of circulation which insures even, thorough and efficient freezing.

White Mountainís best ice cream maker is powered by a 12,000 rpm commercial-grade motor. It gives plenty of power for turning the freezer at the proper speed, which is necessary for producing the fine texture and quality of homemade ice cream. Just before freezing is completed, the machine can be stopped to add fruit or candy, then restarted. Plugs into household outlet.
