determined annually by the Board of Education during budget deliberations.
Field Trips:

A field trip shall be
defined as any journey by a group of students that is conducted away from
school premises, takes place during the instructional
day, and is under the supervision of a teacher or other duly appointed
school personnel.

Field trips must be an
integral part of an approved course of study and/or conducted for the purpose
of affording a first-hand educational experience not available in the classroom.
·
Field trips are
considered a part of the curriculum and educational program of the
schools. Therefore, attendance is
governed by the same rules as attendance at regular classroom activities.
School Trips:
·
A school trip shall be
defined as any journey by a group of students that is conducted away from
school premises, takes place outside of
the instructional day, and is under the supervision of a teacher or other
duly appointed school personnel.

School trips must be
an integral part of an approved course of study and/or conducted for the
purpose of affording a first-hand educational experience not available in the
classroom.
· Overnight school trips or school trips that are outside of a 70-mile radius of the school will require Board of Education approval 45 days in advance of the departure date. Exceptions to this are overnight school trips that are annual events such as inter-scholastic competitions. The Superintendent shall approve or disapprove such trips.
