Alan's Lego® Train Page

Welcome to my Lego® trains page! One of my hobbies is collecting and building Lego® trains. Lego has made trains since the late 1960's, and has produced three different main lines of trains: the "blue-era" 4.5V battery trains and 12V trains from the late 60's through the late 70's, the "gray-era" 4.5V and 12V trains from about 1980 through 1990, and the new 9V line of trains in production from 1991 to the present. For a great overview of trains from the different eras, visit Reinhard Beneke's train page.

I collect mainly 9V and gray-era 12V sets. The 9V sets run more smoothly, while the 12V sets had better design on the average (in my opinion) and included a range of remote-controlled accessories sadly lacking in the current 9v line. Running a 12V layout with multiple trains, a couple of remote-controlled points, and a remote-controlled signal or two is a little more challenging than one might at first think--and of course it leads to some fun crashes!

OK, enough background! The links below are to further pages with a (very, right now) few pictures of my and my brother Steve's collection, a few of my MOC's, and my trade wants. Enjoy!
