RECREATION
The Cherry Orchard is surrounded by 52 acres of wooded land where you can hike, walk, and picnic. We have a pond stocked with bass for those who like to fish.

The nine-hole, par 36 Fox Run Golf Course is located across the road.
Next door to The Cherry Orchard is
Arcadian Estate Winery that hosts concerts, dinners, carnivals & theatrical
performances throughout the year.
Four miles south of The Cherry Orchard is Watkins Glen, home of the Watkins Glen International Racetrack. Host of numerous races including NASCARS Frontier at the Glen.
Aside from racing, the
village is also known for its quaint shops and the Glen Gorge, known as the
"eighth wonder of the world." The Gorge includes Watkins Glen State
Park.

Those of us who serve you at the John Thomas Steakhouse also want to be the
best. That is the reason we “dry age” our extra-extra quality beef. Most
places say that their beef is aged when it is one or two weeks old. We’ve
found that super quality beef continues to improve for four, five, six weeks.
Like great wines that improve over time, great beef gets sweeter, more tender,
and acquires a taste that cannot be duplicated, except with proper age. Our kind
of beef is extremely expensive. We pay more in the beginning, it loses twenty
percent of its weight in the aging cooler, and then we have to trim it. And the
meat, meanwhile, demands special care; each piece must be stored in specially
refrigerated meat coolers that maintain specific humidity, temperature, and air
circulation.

Robert
H. Treman State Park
An area of wild beauty, with the rugged gorge called Enfield Glen as its scenic
highlight. Winding trails follow the gorge past 12 waterfalls, including the
115-foot Lucifer Falls, to where visitors can see a mile-and-a-half down the
wooded gorge as it winds its way to the lower park.
Seneca Day Sails
Get swept away for a cruise on the vintage schooner yacht "Malabar X".
Originally built in 1930, and victorious in both the 1930 and 1932 Bermuda Race,
this vessel is the epitome of the fine wooden racing/cruising schooners designed
by John Alden. Try the helm, trim the sails, or simply sit back and take in the
beauty of the rolling vineyards, waterfalls, and cliffs surrounding the southern
waters of Seneca Lake. Relaxing is easy with the wind in your hair, sun on your
face and the gentle motion and creaking of a wooden sailboat gliding over the
water. No two sails are ever the same, the excitement and taste of adventure on
this historic vessel will draw you back again and again.
Taughannock
Falls State Park
Its namesake waterfall is one of the outstanding natural attractions of the
Northeast. Taughannock Falls plunges 215 feet past rocky cliffs that tower
nearly 400 feet above the gorge. Gorge and rim trails offer spectacular views
from above the falls and from below at the end of the gorge trail.
Watkins
Glen State Park
The most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving
visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past
200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds
over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. Rim trails
overlook the gorge. Campers and day-visitors can enjoy the Olympic-size pool,
scheduled summer tours through the gorge, tent and trailer campsites, picnic
facilities and excellent fishing in nearby Seneca Lake or Catherine Creek, which
is renowned for its annual spring run of rainbow trout.
