Compact Fluorescent Lamps
Converting & Re-Lamping

..
The energy saved, and the impact
on our environment, are excellent selling points for this very
versatile lamp. It is now available in both wattage's and
physical sizes to adapt to nearly any
lighting application. The screw base compact fluorescents
easily interchange with standard
incandescent bulbs (we stock shade and harp adapters to help accommodate
these lamps), and
many lamps and fixtures are easily converted to the less expensive
"plug-in" compact lamps.
We have all of the components necessary to make these conversions
for you. And, there are
now dimmable
compact fluorescent lamps available to further energy savings and global
environmental impact.
We stock
all of the necessary components to convert your lamps and
fixtures to accommodate any style compact fluorescent
lamp, including screw base, plug-in
and dimmable.

Where is the biggest lighting load in a home? According to a 1991 survey
done by Pacific Gas &
Electric, the highest loads by far are in the living rooms and
bedroom, where most of the lighting tends
to come from table lamps and floor lamps. The study also estimates
that a consumer will use a
compact fluorescent light in a table lamp 4.7 hours per day.

MR-16 & Halogen Lamps
These highly efficient lamps provide a crisp white light preferred
for reading, illuminating objects
and wall hangings as well as superb color rendering for general
illumination. We can retrofit
most lamps and fixtures to take advantage of this superior lamp
design.
Halogen lamps are an ideal replacement to incandescent PAR lamps
that have been made
obsolete by EPACT. Federal law has required that light sources
produce a higher
efficacy (lumens per watt), driving designers to seek out
halogen alternatives to standard
incandescent lighting.
Not only is halogen the best solution for many
outdated incandescents, it's often the preferred choice over incandescent
lamps
by many lighting professionals.
"Many applications, such as retail, call for the
white light of halogen, especially when daylight and cool color schemes
factor into
the lighting design," said Ann Kale, Ann Kale
Associates, New York City. In fact, her clients are requesting halogen
more and
more. "Not only are they attracted to the crisp
light that halogen produces, they appreciate the fact that halogen delivers
a
higher candlepower with a lower wattage," she
added.
"Halogen sources have a higher efficacy than other
incandescent sources, and they also maintain that efficacy," said Bill
Middlebrook, Product Manager, Halogen Products.
"Standard incandescents lose about 30% of their light output by the end
of
lamp life, while lumen maintenance in a halogen
source is close to 100%." [Source: Philips Lighting]
