K2BSA Ham Radio

Ham Radio at the 2005 BSA National Jamboree

Jamboree 2005 is History!

The 2005 Jamboree is over, and, from the point of view of K2BSA, it was a success. In the ten days of the Jamboree, from Sunday, July 24th, through Tuesday, August 2nd, thousands of Scouts toured the K2BSA station, many hundreds earned Radio Merit Badge, and 116 new hams earned their Tech licenses (along with 11 who upgraded to General or Extra). We made more than 60 satellite contacts, and thousands of voice and CW contacts on 80 through 2 meters (including a number with the FBI!).

I'll have some pictures and a more detailed write-up on this website in the near future. In the meanwhile, "thanks" to all the staff, and to the Scouts who made it all worthwhile.
