Armor after the Effigy of the Earl of Warwick

English? Flemish? Italian? , mid-15th century.
Hardened spring steel; built 1998

This is an adaptation of the harness shown in the effigy of Richard Beauchamp in Warwick Cathedral. The effigy does not include gauntlets; I have provided Italianate gauntlets with the cuffs fluted to match the rest of the ensemble. There is legitimate dispute over where the armor shown in the effigy must have been built - I settled on these gloves in part to permit the owner to fight in his harness.

The effigy shows a jousting visor and wrapper; this harness includes that helmet and also a sparrow's beak visor and buff.
